Who is Peteyfresh?
Pete Metzger
Pete is an award-winning visual artist whose talents range from sharply attractive graphic design to offbeat and engaging short films to unusual immersive theater experiences to striking and emotional photography.
As a graphic designer and illustrator, Pete has contributed to some of the biggest publications in Los Angeles and led awards campaigns for films such as Paramount Pictures’ Oscar®-winning “Rocketman.” From designing comps, to servicing clients, to managing art, to doing final production on ads, Pete does it all.
His design skills demonstrate his 25+ years of experience and his layouts are fresh and colorful. He is adept at a wide selection of eye-catching illustration styles, from photo-based to cartoon style. He also has photography, filmmaking and editing skills and experience producing and directing photo shoots of a variety of subjects.
Pete’s work has been published in the Los Angeles Times, Variety, the Long Beach Press-Telegram and the Pasadena Star-News. He has experience writing a wide variety of material such as feature articles, deadline sports reports, opinion pieces, short fiction stories, stage shows, short films and even full-length screenplays.
He lives in the suburbs of Los Angeles with his Cheese and his Monkey.

Produced a variety of advertising materials for Paramount Pictures, Focus Features, Bleecker Street, Universal Pictures, Disney and Amazon specializing in digital, magazine and newspaper ads and awards and outdoor campaigns. From designing fresh ideas for award comps to elaborate adaptive creative campaigns, Pete has done it all. Employed from 2011 to present.

Freelance page designer and illustrator for V Plus feature sections. Conceptualized and created elaborate illustrations, working with editors and other designers to best illustrate the often-complicated stories. Wrote feature stories and took photos as well. Freelance from 2006-2009.

PPage designer and lead art director for sections like Daily Calendar, Sunday Calendar, Health, Highway 1, Real Estate and Food. Designed various covers and inside pages under strict press deadlines. Worked with a variety of illustrators to create concepts and final artwork for a variety of stories, while managing strict budgets. Also served as Video Game Critic and wrote feature stories. Employed from 2000-2006, freelance from 2006-2010.

In addition to the design of nightly sports, main news and feature sections, wrote concert reviews and sports features and created information graphics and full-color illustrations. Employed from 1990-1996.

Pete self-published a book of his favorite photos, mostly nudes. Included in the tome are three illustrated stories - "Dina Don't", "Malibu" and "Captive" - as well as a collection of stills from his film work. 2008

The "Human" part of a group show with long-time collaborator Jeff Amlotte, Pete's photos captured the playfulness, introspection and vunerability of his female subjects. 2002

COMMERCIALS
Sassy and sexy, Pete has created spec commercials featuring sexy women pitching products. He has also done longform spots to introduce mobile apps to the public.
SHORT FILMS
Pete has produced and directed a wide array of shorts like the popular "Coco the Junkie Pimp" series (that was in theaters across the nation), the engaging documentary "Community Capoeira" (that was shown before congress) and expermental work like "Dina Don't" and "Scream Dream" among other projects. His subjects and style are frenetic and offbeat.
